This week, we are revisiting the book about goals written by Erik J. Fisher and Jim Woods. I was able to interview them back on episode 29 and episode 30 of the podcast. I have taken a couple excerpts from those episodes and compiled them in this episode.
As a note, the original name of the book was “Beyond the To Do List: Volume 1 – Goals.” It was planned as the first of three books in a series. There is still a plan for three books, but they have changed the name to “Ready, Aim, Fire! A Practical Guide to Setting and Achieving Goals.” The content is the same, just a new title and cover. And now it’s available in paperback (previous only on Kindle and audio). I will be giving one or two paperback copies away (depending on how many people register). How do you register? Just simply:
- Tweet about the giveaway (sample below, make sure the hashtag is included!).
- Answer one of the questions in the comment section below.
The winner(s) will be randomly selected by Monday, June 16, 2014. Be sure to get your own copy of the book, too! Even if you win, it will make a fantastic gift for someone else.
Questions: How are your goals coming for this year? Do you have a specific goal that you’re working on now?
My goals are coming along fairly well. One of my goals was to right and release a book about track & field. At the end of April, my book released. My fitness goal is mostly on track (although I wouldn’t mind losing a few more pounds). June is definitely a great time to reevaluate my targets from January. Thanks for the reminder to do this.
Thanks for sharing, Jon! Definitely glad about your book, too. I should do another push for it soon 🙂
Thanks!
One specific goal I have for this year is to read the bible through in a year. I have started several times, but almost half way through the year and still on track. Its been a busy year so far which has prevented me from having many chances to get on here or other blogs to help my growth in general but I have been able to consistently keep the reading going.
Thanks for stopping by. And that is a great goal. Every time I try to do that, I find myself getting stuck digging deeper and get myself off track. I’ll probably start doing this again, but set up a way for myself to just make a note of what I want to dig deeper on, but still keep on track.
Love what those two are doing online! I already read the eBook version and loved it. A goal I have this year is to release 2-3 new products that would help people develop their leadership. I’m on track to meet that goal!
Can you tell me about those products (or the idea of the products)? I loved the Leadership Mandate last year.
Yes I can. I already release the audio version of The Leadership Mandate, I’m going to be releasing another free quote book titled, “Success Quotes: Foundational Elements for Lasting Success” probably in July, and I’m going to be releasing a book about discovering, developing, and using your personal strengths toward the end of the year.
Awesome! Be sure to keep us posted on them, as I’m sure many here would be interested in them.
Thank you Joshua, I’ll keep you informed.
