This episode focuses on the 3 focus words I have for this year: opportunity, intentionality, and dedication. I wrote a brief post about this in December, but this is a more in-depth look. This episode is brought to you because Lily Kreitinger interviewed me for her Entrepreneur Spotlight.

The Scripture for the week can be found in 1 Corinthians 16:9. “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.”

Opportunity:

(Isaiah 55:6) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

There are opportunities all around us, but we are either not paying attention to them or we have failed to prepare ourselves for them.

  1. Pray for opportunities
  2. Look for opportunities
  3. Act on those opportunities

Intentionality:

(Ruth 2:16) And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.

We must do things on purpose. People don’t become successful on accident.

  1. You need a reason
  2. You need a direction
  3. You need a plan

Dedication:

(Galatians 6:9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

While we are learning simple tips and ideas for improving our lives, it will take dedication to see them through.

  1. The best things are not the easy things
  2. The best things will take time
  3. The best things will take money

Book Give-away!

We are celebrating the 6 month anniversary of this podcast the week of August 19, 2013. Here’s what I’d like to do:

Have a huge giveaway!

I am looking for a lot of participation. I would like to get a lot of reviews on iTunes to make the show more visible to the rest of the world. This won’t take a lot of time and won’t cost you a penny, but it can be a big help to the show.

For every 10 reviews, I plan to giveaway 5 books (that’s a 1 in 2 chance of winning!):

If you would like to qualify for the giveaway celebrating the six month anniversary of this podcast, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Leave a review in iTunes (it doesn’t matter if you normally listen with iTunes or not)
  2. Share this on your social networks
  3. Fill out the form on this page.

There is, of course, a deadline. I am leaving this open until Saturday August 24, 2013. And, yes, if you already left a review on iTunes, that will still count for this!

I am also looking for your feedback on the show! I want to share your comments on the show, so go to the Feedback page and send me some now!
